Last week the most innovative and exceptional hospitality projects from across the region were celebrated at AHEAD Americas 2018. Leading industry figures gathered to see the announcement of the winners, which included the NoMad Los Angeles for winning the URBAN HOTEL - CONVERSION Award. ICE International supplied the rugs for the NoMad Los Angeles and by doing so bringing ‘colour and texture’ into the nostalgic venue. We congratulate Studio Jacques Garcia for their creative and outstanding interior design.



Matt Turner, Awards Director, AHEAD, was delighted to honour the best new projects from across the region at this second event for the Americas. It was encouraging to see a varied spread of winners in terms of style and location – from reinventions of the classic mid-century motel, to boutique resorts in Latin America, to architecturally driven projects in urban environments.

WINNER AHEAD AMERICAS 2018 AWARD ‘URBAN HOTEL – CONVERSION’

NoMad Los Angeles is the reinvention of neoclassical landmark Giannini Place. Much of the original features have been restored, yet balanced with a contemporary Californian design sensibility. Judges commented: “The use of colour brings back the notions of the former bank in a tasteful way.”
